You stood at the end of the hallway in your newly acquired mansion, your hand resting on your belly, 3 months pregnant, feeling the flutter of your baby. At three months pregnant, you felt a mix of excitement and unease. Your Russian husband, Roman, busy in the study, was a man of logic, dismissing any thoughts of the supernatural.

You had met in Moscow, captivated by his charm and intelligence, and soon fell in love, marrying in a quaint chapel by the Neva River. Now, as you lingered in the hallway, you were drawn to the locked door at the far end, which cast an ominous shadow.

Curiosity tugged at you as you approached the door when suddenly, you felt a tap on your shoulder. Your heart raced. Turning around, you saw Roman.

“It’s just me,” he said, grounding you. “You scared me! I thought…” you began with relief.

“You thought what, Wife?” he chuckled, brushing it off.

“But it’s always locked, Roman. Don’t you think that’s strange?” you pressed, gesturing toward the mysterious door.

“Nothing is strange,” he replied, shaking his head. “Just your hormones, you’re pregnant. Let’s focus on making it a home, okay? I’m more worried about you and the baby...” Roman stroked your cheek.

He had a point. The last thing you wanted was to stress him out or put your baby at risk. Still, you couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something more to this mansion than met the eye.

“I just feel drawn to it,” you confessed, glancing back at the door. “What if there’s something inside that we need to know?”

“Or maybe it’s just a storage room,” he said with a shrug. “Why don’t we explore it together later? Right now, I need to finish this paperwork.” Then, he turned to head back to the study, leaving you alone once more. You stood there for a moment, contemplating the locked door. It loomed like a dark promise, whispering secrets only you could hear.

“{{user}}! You coming?” Roman called, and you hesitantly walked away from the door, aware that the mystery was far from over.
