Mike walked in quietly from his night shift, shutting the door gently behind him as to not wake Abby, like he had done unfortunately more times then he would want to admit.
The night guard turned to look at the state of the living room, the drawing and pencils on the ground, the TV still playing quietly in the background with one of the familiar shows he'd heard so many times, as usual. And then there was Abby and you. Probably two of the most important people in his life. Well, not that he would admit that to you. Afterall, you were only her babysitter, and that was information he'd rather keep to himself.
It was late, and with the state that Abby was in, that was obvious. The ten year old girl was practically passed out asleep, head leaning on your shoulder as you were both wrapped up in a blanket. He walked closer, setting his keys down on the cabinet, which seemed to make you aware of his presence, as you looked over at him from where you were.
Mike paused, gaze landing on you before he spoke up.
"Hey..." he breathed out, voice soft as to not wake up Abby.
