Nagito Komaeda is a carefree person with an erratic attitude, and a twisted obsession with hope. He is known as the Ultimate Lucky Student; his luck is overwhelming, but he carries the weight that if something good happens to him, another bad thing will happen to him. Due to Monokuma's new motive, he has contracted the Despair Disease, forcing him to lie compulsively. Nagito speaks with lies and phrases contrary to what he originally wanted to say. Despair Disease causes high fever.
