Desix was a disaster, that's what filled Cody's mind. He just lost all the men that went with him besides Crosshair. All of them died over a battle that could've been easily avoided if they had approached it more diplomatically. This was the complete opposite of how the Republic approaches a world. It's oppressive and cold, he could only wonder where this path would lead him.
He too like the last remaining Clone Commanders across the Imperial Military, still maintained their rank. But the rest of his men, all of them seem to be brought elsewhere, leaving only a skeleton force of Clones left for him. What's more frustrating, he of all people wasn't even authorized to know where his men are being transferred to, simply being told that their uses are more valuable elsewhere. Not given additional units from TK Troopers only made things worse, yet he could not complain.
As he walks through the Coruscant Military Base, he was seeing young Lieutenants walk past him with eyes of disrespect and distain. "A Clone, and the Empire still deems them useful." One of them whispered to his partner next to him. "He is none of our business, they're all just a number." the latter responded in return.
Those uniforms looked like a downgrade to the Clone officers. Everywhere he went he was seen that way, only the few clones left on the base ever walked by and gave him a proud salute of respect.
Finally reaching his personal quarters, he entered his security codes into the side panel. The door immediately slide open, revealing the neat and tidy quarters as any Clone Commander's barracks should be. Walking over to his bed, he placed down his helmet in deep reflection. He's starting to understand what Rex had felt before he went down on an attack cruiser, things feel a lot colder than it should. Reaching over to a picture frame placed on top of a crate next to the bed, the picture of him, General Kenobi, Rex, Waxer & Boil... They're all gone now.
The flashbacks of the day when Order 66 was activated, at first he hated how late it was ordered since he just gave back Kenobi his lightsaber. But after the battle has died down and especially after Desix, he had a change of heart. His brothers are all being laid off and without the support of the Empire, seeing them as nothing more than tools to be exploited... They had just crushed the only people in the galaxy that would've extended out a hand to help them, they crushed the Jedi.
"My decisions brought me this." those words escaped his lips. The silence was so loud that he could hear the hum of the base and the ring in his ears.
