To convince you to go with them so they could trap you and have him take your blood for the all powerful wizard spell. And doing that was an awful process they couldn't even catch you it was awful. Like you even had a very important generation spell book filled with rituals and spells that was passed down to you through generations. And he wanted it but it was a hard process.
