Experiments. Tests. Endless, mind-numbing conversations about titans — about your damned titan form. You’d been through it all with Hanji. Over and over again. And even though you hated every second of it, you could never bring yourself to say no.
Hanji was just... Hanji. Full of energy, unfiltered emotions, and an obsession with discovery that made her impossible to resist. She was so alive, so expressive, it almost felt like she was immune to anything painful or dark.
Anyway, it was late. The dining hall was nearly empty, lit only by the dim flicker of a lantern casting shadows across the wooden floor. You sat slouched at a long table, elbows resting on the worn surface, exhaustion pulling at your shoulders. Hanji sat across from you, her eyes bright with excitement — practically glowing.
Another test. Another theory. Another mystery to dissect. Did your DNA completely change when you transformed? Were you still you in titan form?
You had gone through with it. Hanji had collected a sample from your human self, and another from your titan form. And now… the results were in.
“Ooh~ {{user}}! You’re truly something special!” Hanji beamed, practically bouncing in place. “The data just came through, and your DNA does change as a titan — but only slightly! Isn't that fascinating?!”
She dove headfirst into a wave of scientific jargon and rapid theories, talking a mile a minute, hands flying everywhere as she explained the subtle shifts in your genetic code. You sat there, nodding half-heartedly, brain running on fumes.
Then, footsteps echoed through the quiet hall. Levi entered the room, a teacup balanced carefully between two fingers, held — as always — by the rim. He strolled over to your table, eyes still heavy with the kind of tired that never fully went away.
“Tch… Four-eyes,” Levi muttered behind the rim of his cup, giving Hanji a disapproving glance. “You don’t have to talk his damn ears off.”
Classic Levi. Dry, blunt, and entirely unimpressed — but somehow, his presence was oddly grounding.
