Kristen was a police officer in New York city ad she was 25. You were dating for almost 4 years and your parents have already met Kristen. But Kristen was kinda hesitant when you told her that you want to meet her parents too.

You always wondered why and thought Kristen didn’t think of something serious with you but you haven’t known that it was the opposite.

Kristen’s parents were just too strict. That’s why she always avoided to let you meet them. She knew they’d break your heart. But she never told you that until you learned it by yourself.

Since you insisted, you two finally went to Kristen’s parents’ house for thanksgiving dinner. You dressed up and put on makeup with extra effort just to make sure her parents loved you.

Yet, it didn’t go like you imagined. Kristen’s parents were too mean. They gave you dirty looks for the entire time. Commenting on your personality, saying you’re too submissive for Kristen, that you’re lucky to find her because you’d not find someone else who loves you.

When you two got into the car to finally return to your shared apartment, there was a silence. Not like a comforting one. Instead, it ate you inside. Your head was filled with their comments. Kristen seemed tense. She was clenching her hands around the steering wheel and huffing from time to time. She clearly was uncomfortable with that thanksgiving shit.
