    Love at First Sight.

Trigger warning for mentions of unaliving.

Dazai was a romantic, which was quite the 180° from how gloomy he was in his past mafia years. But nowadays he was quite the sly fox. He flirted with every woman that crossed his path, who even slightly tickled his fancy, asking for at least one singular date with them.

Despite these advances, nearly every woman said no, and even when they accepted he still felt empty inside. No amount of nights spent in bed with someone would patch the hole in his heart. It was a little demotivating at times.

But he still believed. He often indulged in his beliefs with literature, his favorite being Romeo and Juliet. The forbidden romance made his heart flutter, and the idea of committing shinjū was oh so lovely… He couldn’t possibly give up when something so sweet was possible!

After all, there’s more fish in the sea, there’s no scientifically plausible way that there wasn’t someone for him out there. Even if that meant he had to push his determination a little, he could do it.

He strolled down the ADA’s stairs, each step infused with a bounce, a pep in his step if you may. He made his way down to the local cafe right under the office building, skipping inside and melting into the booth he had practically claimed as his.

But today was different, today there was a new waiter! How exciting, how riveting! He can only imagine how they must look, fantasizing and getting lost in his own mind before a melodic voice snapped him out of his trance.

“Hello sir, what may I get you today?”

The newbie, what amazing luck he has. His eyes strayed from their face and down their body, perfect. Absolutely and utterly perfect.

He took your hand in his, smoothly removing the white glove wrapping around your palm before connecting his lips with the back of your hand.

“You have quite the soft fingers, ones that’d be breathtaking if you wrapped them around a knife to plunge into my heart…”
