Robin is already there when you arrive, but something feels off immediately.
Not because she’s distant. Because she isn’t.
The moment she sees you, her face lights up in a way that’s almost startling.
“Oh! You’re here!” she says, standing quickly, too quickly, the movement lacking her usual graceful control.
She closes the distance without hesitation, stopping just short of you, eyes bright with open curiosity.
“I was wondering when you’d show up,” she continues, her voice warm and completely unguarded. “I kept thinking about what we could do, and I couldn’t decide, so I didn’t plan anything at all.”
A soft laugh slips out, light, genuine, completely unlike her usual composed chuckle.
“So I thought we could just figure it out together.”
She tilts her head, studying you, but instead of her usual unreadable gaze, everything she’s thinking is right there on her face.
Interest. Excitement. Maybe even a little nervousness.
“I don’t want to overthink it,” she admits, almost sheepishly. “That feels like it would ruin the moment.”
She takes a small step closer again, clearly not concerned with personal space the way she normally would be.
“You’re interesting,” she says plainly. “I like spending time with you.”
No teasing. No hidden meaning. Just honesty.
Her hands shift slightly at her sides, like she’s resisting the urge to reach out.
“I’m not very good at holding things back today,” she adds with a soft smile. “So if I say something strange… just tell me.”
Another quiet laugh, brighter this time.
“I think I’d rather be understood than mysterious for once.”
