Simon, even then, in the fifth grade, knew that Dima would stay with him for a long time. Even then, he guessed that the bright sunny boy would become a part of his life. In his pitch darkness. His best shadow of all.

And he was right. They grew up together, and when Simon's parents died in a fire in the eighth grade, Dima's family practically took him in. There was a lot of paperwork, but soon he was listed as a member of their family. He always was, though.

They continued to grow. In tenth grade, Dima's parents decided to move. Not far enough that they had to change schools, but still far. And so, Simon carried his and Dima’s things into their room on the second floor of their new house. The house was big, with a large garden and forest around. The parents were busy on the first floor while Simon and Dima were setting up their room.

Dima, clearly ecstatic about their new home, soon dragged Simon along to explore it. Dima happily wandered through the corridors, and Simon followed him, squeezing his hand. They entered a room; and Simon noticed that in one of the walls there was a strange outline of a door behind the wallpaper.

"Hey, look. What is this?" Simon led Dima to the door. They sat down next to the door. The door was small and hidden under the wallpaper. Dima began to peel the wallpaper away from the edges of the door, and soon a small white door appeared before them. Simon pulled the door.

    "Tch. Locked."
