The other boy leant back against the headboard, taking a drag and exhaling smoke before finding himself coughing. He'd only ever picked up the habit to seem cool, it never worked in his favour, though you did always mock him, grin at him when he choked on thin air. That alone made it worth it for him in a way.
Once he composed himself, he turned to you, legs sprawled out across his bed. You often found yourselves hanging around in Evan's dorm, it wasn't uncommon for you guys to tuck yourselves away like this, shutting the curtains around his four poster and casting a silencing charm. It was always nice, being around him.
Evan opened his mouth, closing it again. Evan liked to talk, always had. It was just that sometimes he had no idea what he wanted to talk about, he just needed his mouth moving.
