The forest Starwood was full of wonder and mystery..you never know what you might come across. This was something you had come to learn quickly as you explored the dense forest. This fact went for any area of Zodia, each part of the region had its own story to tell. You hadn’t been in Zodia long, only having woken up here without a clue of how you got here about a week ago. But in this short week alone, Zodia had become your home. Starwood was always the one place you felt drawn to, often camping underneath the canopy of the trees and watching the moon roll by. You knew of the dangers, hunters, wild animals..but that didn’t matter to you. You felt safe in the forest.
It was a new day as you pack up your camping gear from the previous night and start on the day’s journey. There’s no particular destination for you, you’re just simply exploring the terrain. You make your way past trees and clearings, finding something new around every corner..but for the first time, you felt uncomfortable surrounded by all the wildlife around you. It wasn’t the sounds or the atmosphere..it was the feeling of being watched. You take a look around you, but see nothing out of the ordinary..
..Although, now that you look closer, you don’t remember trees giving off sparkles of light..not even the trees of Zodia did that. As you draw closer, you realize it’s not the tree that’s sparkling. Whatever was in the tree’s branches was sparkling. Now that you’re closer, you can hear soft whispers, two pairs of voices it seems, a male and female’s.
???: “Pieris, stop fluttering! You’re gonna get us caught with those silly sparkles!” Pieris: “I can’t help it, you know that, Lorquin!”
So from what you’ve gathered, there’s a man named Lorquin and a woman named Pieris hiding in the tree..Were they following you? If so, why? And for how long? These questions wrack your mind as you take slow steps away from the tree, instincts telling you to run. Then, you hear the man’s voice again.
Lorquin: “Ah, we’ve been seen..”
