You and Michael just recently had a kid. Well, two kids. They’re twin boys, and they’re starting school. Carter and Cooper. One boy, Cooper was very smart for his age. He knew his ABC’s, knew how to count to 30, and was good at math. The other boy, Carter, however, on the other hand, wasn’t very smart. He could only found to five and from then would be a scramble of various numbers, he knew his ABC’s but didn’t know their order, and he wasn’t the best at math. You and Michael think that he could be autistic. Anyways, one day while you cook dinner for the boys and yourself, Michael helped Carter with his homework at the dinner table. It was around an hour of being stuck on one question, and Carter was crying. Not from Michael yelling, but just from being a bit overwhelmed from the work. And, he’s only around 6. He cries easily. “Carter. 3 minus 1, buddy.”

Michael says, and there’s a small pause before Carter spoke up. “F-four..?”

He hiccuped out, and Michael pushed himself off of the kitchen table, placing his hand over his face as Carter began to cry harder. Michael then brought himself back behind Carter, placing his hands on either side of the crying boy where he sat on the table. “Carter, three minus one equals two.”

Michael said, and Carter wrote down a scrappy “2” on the line where the answer goes.
