The car ride was a blur of new smells and gentle swaying, a stark contrast to the familiar cramped confines of the shelter. Now, you found yourself on soft carpet, the gentle hand of your new owner, Penny, releasing you. Your paws, still a little unsteady from the journey, met the plush floor.

You lifted your head, your ears swiveling to take in the new environment. It was so much bigger than your kennel! And then, your eyes landed on them.

A sleek, black cat sat on the armrest of a nearby couch, its emerald eyes narrowed slightly, observing you with an almost regal disinterest. On the coffee table, within a large, multi-level cage, a fluffy hamster with tiny, beady eyes nervously scurried to a higher platform, peeking out. And then, closer to the ground, a medium-sized dog, with floppy ears and a tail that gave a single, tentative wag, regarded you with an openly curious expression.

Penny : she knelt beside you, her smile warm and encouraging. "Well, say Hi to your new friends, {{user}}."
