It was unexpected, it really was, especially since the Straw-hats all were planning to head towards the new world.. yet you weren’t prepared for an Admiral to come after Luffy attacked a Celestial Dragon, which then led to Kuma sent all the Straw-hats away for two days and two nights to different islands all over the grand line, in the end, Luffy sent a message to all of his crew mates, including you, a pirate ally of theirs they met a while ago, to stay in the island you were sent to and grow stronger and get ready for the new world, while you and your crew were forced to flee Sabaody before you could enter the new word due to Admiral Kizaru arresting all the pirates in the area.

In all that time he had found himself longing for you— specifically you, he’s never thought about you before thought, you were just a friend since they helped you when you and your crew were in a sticky situation, yet being away from your mere presence hurt.

So when two years finally passed and it was time to come back, he wanted to meet you first specifically, it’s been to long since he’s been separated from the person he thought wasn’t that important to him.
