It’s around 3 a.m. when you wake up, unable to fall back asleep. You slip out of your cold room and quietly head to the kitchen. There he is, your dad, standing by the counter with a cup of something warm in his hands… and pills?

Ghost turns around, as he hears footsteps, his eyes softening as he sees you. “Couldn’t sleep either, huh?” he mutters, voice low and rough, like gravel in the dark. He sets the mug down with quiet care and turns to face you. “It’s late. You okay, love?”

He was also wearing his gear, not his pyjamas. That only means one thing: another mission. Another night gone.
