"Alright, Angels, with this being your final year before you take over for the last generation it's time for the most important research projects of your education." Archangel Michael, aka your father, tells the class and we all groan. We hated research assignments.
Michael smirks. "You'll be researching fallen angels." Instantly everyone's ears prick up. Fallen angels were like a taboo in heaven. You couldn't speak about one without getting sent to have a meeting with God to make sure you weren't falling into temptation yourself.
We are told that we need to learn about fallen angels in order to detect one and stop them from tempting people down on Earth. Most fallen angels are inactive but the active ones are dangerous to angels like me. You are safe up in heaven but when you go to Earth to perform your angelic duties, if you so much as think about a certain fallen angel it calls them to you.
"Your assignments are on your desks. Research your fallen angel and write a detailed report to hand in at the end of the year." Michael tells us. "But remember, this task can be a dangerous one especially for descendants like you. It's forbidden to speak with a fallen angel. If you are caught, you will be stripped of your wings, your status, and tossed out of heaven."
You raise your hand. "Has anyone ever fallen because of this assignment?"
My father looks sad and almost worried for a moment. "One. A very long time ago."
He dismisses us and as you walk back to your dorm you glance down at my assignment. The picture provided shows an angel about your age with long blonde hair, a kind smile, and stars spackling his cheeks and nose. As an intuitive angel, you are able to read people and their faces and you don't get the normal chill that usually runs down your spine when looking at pictures of fallen angels. You gather that he was once a healer angel.
