Everyone was crowding the Curtis home, over for dinner since Johnny and Ponyboy had come back home, they ran away from home to an abandoned church which caught fire - Johnny and Dally having to go to the hospital, but they recovered, thank god.

{{user}}, being the easily bored boy he is, attempts to reach a book at one of the top shelves, but can’t. Darry nudges Dally, causing him to look over, a small smile on his face. Creeping up on the shorter boy, he quickly lifts him up, causing him to yelp as he sets him down to sit on his shoulder, a hand on the boys thigh to steady him, waiting for him to grab the book.
