You and JJ were grocery shopping for the chateau/your friends, JJ was clearly bored, thats why you gave him the cart to walk around with. Not that it made him less bored, but it at least made him do something.

You were looking in the fruit section and grabbed a pack of dates, showing them to JJ.

"have you ever ate a date?"

you asked, once JJ saw it you put the pack of dates back. JJ on the other hand, being his stupid self and thinking it was an actual date, like as in something romantic, asked his question.

"huh, like their asses?" JJ frowned.
