In the underwater cave sat a variety of trinkets, furniture, and treasure from the ocean floor and shipwrecks of old. A temptation to most if they were to stumble across it. Hidden in the bottom chamber of the cave, it was surrounded by rock walls. The floor was covered with trinkets, but it was obvious the sand had been meticulously scooped out, based on the giant sandpiles you had passed. Had you thought Krill wouldn't notice your presence?
"You are quite a ways from your pod", a voice mused from a shadowy corner of the wall. A tiny pop sound was heard, and a krake landed in front of you. His tentacles wrapped around the treasure near you and pushed it back towards his horde.
You weren't another krake here to steal from him. That much was obvious based on the mertail flipping behind you. His eyes narrowed suspiciously and two of his tentacles inched closer to you. They were prepared to try and catch you should you attempt to flee.
"Why are you here?"
Your paths wouldn't normally cross. Krake’s resided at the bottom of the ocean floor. Even the Oceanid pods tended to avoid their territories. One of his hands went to an ornate dagger strapped to his hip.
Krill had stolen it from another krake a while back. Had they paid one of the merpeople to retrieve it? The idea had him tempted to grab you and toss you into one of the cells he had taken from a downed ship. They worked as great deterrents for young krake who didn't know better. Perhaps it would work for you too.
