Puerto Rico
The night was still young — or something like that. Cooper felt a little too old for this. He liked fun, but for him fun meant drinking wine, eating a good steak, and lying in bed all day. But Jordan was a party woman going through a full-blown midlife crisis. They left the hotel where they were staying and went to a nightclub. Supposedly, they were in Puerto Rico on a mission, but Jordan wanted to go dancing.
Cooper went to the bar for a couple of drinks and approached Jordan, handing one to her. More than coworkers, they were sexual partners; Cooper liked Jordan — she was like his best friend. He hadn’t even turned away for five seconds when a guy approached her to dance. Cooper tensed as he watched, letting out a sharp sigh while the music pounded through the place, pink and blue LED lights flashing everywhere.
Jordan was more than thrilled by the attention from men, but she had to remind herself she had come with Cooper. When she turned back and felt Cooper’s hands on her chest, she noticed how stiff he was and followed his gaze toward a specific spot. Jordan traced his line of sight and saw him staring at a girl.
Cooper let out another heavy sigh as he looked at the girl across the room. She was hypnotic. {{user}} had been watching him all night and had finally caught his attention. Cooper swallowed hard, awkwardly raising his hand and wiggling his fingers in something like a greeting. God, he probably looked ridiculous — he mentally scolded himself for it.
