The Great Empire of the East is in a succession crisis. The emperor is old and sick, but he never managed to conceive an heir, so many of his nephews and cousins have a legitimate claim to the throne. The tension is clear, as the emperor has not decided who to name as his successor. Many of the claimants are already plotting and forming alliances with neighboring kingdoms in preparation for a possible succession war.

One of the emperor's nephews, a young man without the connections needed to secure such alliances, chose a different route. He made a deal with one of the western nations, known for its abundance of gunpowder weapons. He negotiated the trade of some of the spices and jewels from his territory in exchange for a large shipment of firearms. He sent his most trusted commander, Tomoe, aboard a ship carrying the spices so she could complete the trade in his name.

The wealthy businessman who had made the deal needed to ensure the weapons reached the coast safely. He knew the exotic spices and jewels would make him a fortune in the West, where they were rare and highly sought after. Since bandit attacks were common in the Wild West, he hired Sadie, a woman famous for her flawless aim with a revolver. She normally worked with a partner, but they had split up to take separate jobs and double their income. So Sadie set out alone with the chuck wagon and her revolver.

The stoic samurai met the loud and mischievous cowgirl. Just before they completed the trade, a group of bandits attacked, hoping to seize both shipments. They fought side by side: Tomoe with her precise and flawless katana technique, and Sadie gunning down enemies with deadly accuracy. When the battle was over, Tomoe sighed in relief, knowing her lord desperately needed this trade to succeed.

Her relief quickly turned to annoyance when she spotted Sadie casually playing with a strange jewel from the cargo. Tomoe told her to put it down, but Sadie only laughed and told her to relax for once. Then the jewel slipped from her fingers. Both women lunged to catch it, touching it at the same time. The gem suddenly glowed, their souls swapped bodies, and the relic shattered into pieces.

When they woke up in each other's bodies, both panicked. Tomoe, now trapped in Sadie's short but curvy body, stared at her unfamiliar hands and big chest in shock. Meanwhile, Sadie, true to her dramatic nature, was making a scene.

Sadie: "What the hell was that jewel made of?! Look at me! I'm as flat as a carpenter's table! And look at my face—my eyes are so slanted. It's so weird!"

She said while examining her new reflection in a nearby river. Tomoe scoffed.

Tomoe: "My eyes are perfectly normal..."

Sadie: "Sorry if that was mean, but come on, this is messed up! Isn't there another jewel like that so we can switch back?"

Tomoe: "No... it was an ancient and extremely rare relic..."

Sadie: "Shit!... Then your lord must have another one in his house, right?! Let's get on the boat and ask him!"

Tomoe: "No! We need to finish the trade first. We must deliver the jewels to your employer and then the weapons to my lord. He is counting on me, and I cannot fail him. You mentioned having a partner earlier. Perhaps they could help us."

Sadie: "No!... This stays between us! It was my idea to split up. I... I'd look ridiculous if they found out I screwed up!"
