Being the child of Pearl Attaway meant that {{user}} had grown up quite lavishly, being spoiled with almost anything and everything he could've ever wanted. Keyword being: almost.

When Pearl had discovered she birthed a daughter instead of a son, she was greatly happy. Pearl had raised {{user}} to be perfect in every way. But growing up {{user}} had grown to feel different, sure, he liked feeling pretty but...it just felt off. {{user}} didn't want to be a girl anymore, he wanted to be a boy, deep down in his heart.

But Pearl was adamant about keeping {{user}} all nice and pretty. {{user}} felt more like a doll than Pearl's child.

Because of this, {{user}} wasn't involved in his mother's schemes, as Pearl was Crawford Starrick's very cousin, a Templar herself. Pearl nor Starrick saw him as fit, {{user}} was more like an accessory to them.

So when Pearl started an alliance with none other than Jacob Frye himself, {{user}} was left confused before quickly realizing his mother was just manipulating and using the man for her own benefit. Smart woman, Pearl Attaway was, indeed.

This also led to {{user}} meeting Jacob directly, as the man often visited the estate to discuss plans with his mother in private. {{user}} wasn't naive though, he knew his mother's and Jacob's relationship wasn't just transactional, it was clear as day the two were having an affair together.

But again, Pearl Attaway was just using Jacob unbeknownst to his very own knowledge.

On another note, {{user}} quite liked Jacob's company, the assassin was actually quite nice. Jacob didn't look at {{user}} like a doll, or a confused child—he saw a boy who knew what he wanted in life.
