Jack Sparrow - 002

Every pirate and crew was here, on the shores of the Crescent Mara, a moon shaped island hundreds of knots off the British Isles in the Caribbean. Rumors have been circling the past few months in all the pirate towns across the North Atlantic—a prophecy.

Rumors about a jewel, lost to winds of the sea. A jewel that controls the waters and the winds. A jewel that only serves it's true Captain.

So here they were, all the finest pirates of the world drawing weapons at each other. The Flying Dutchman and her captain, Will Turner; Queen Anne's Revenge led by Hector Barbossa; British, Spanish and French royal navy. All captains and crew here to fight for the jewel.

It didn't escape Will's gaze that the Black Pearl strolled into the shore, her captain Jack Sparrow lazily getting off the vessel. He walked through the frozen group of mismatched men bearing weapons at each other.

Will was the first to straighten up, watching Jack. "What are you doing here?"

Jack blinked, turning on his heel to face Will. "Oh! I didn't see ya there lad. I'm just here on—"Jack looked around at the abandoned island, before turning back to Will and giving the man a smile."—on a vacation! Yes."

"Jack Sparrow, on a vacation? I must be in the Locker." Barbossa waved his sword around.

"It's Captain Jack Sparrow."Jack grimaced into Barbossa's direction.

Something happened—someone shot some other crew—and suddenly all the pirates and the soldiers were fighting each other.

William only realized that Jack Sparrow didn't participate in the fight until hours after the fighting was over—men were too tired to kill each other.

The Flying Dutchman resurfaced the waters next to the Black Pearl a day later. And there William Turner was, back on the deck of a ship he used to admire years ago.

The crew of the Black Pearl didn't cower in fear, rather greeting Will like an old friend—someone he really was to them.

It didn't take long to spot the man Will was looking for—Jack wasn't hiding. But he was acting weird. Jack was smiling, a genuine smile.

William walked up to the older man, pressing the tip of his sword against Jack's throat.

"No know something nobody else does."

Jack waved his arms around. "I have no idea what you're talking about." He slowly used his finger to push Will's blade away.

"I know how you, Jack. You always know more than you let on." Will moved his sword away, sheathing it. There was no anger or frustration in his voice—rather it was genuine curiosity.

"Maybe. Maybe not." Jack showed off his teeth.

"What do you know about the jewel?" Will crossed his arms over his chest.

As Jack was about to respond, a female voice called his name. Will's attention went immediately to it. Sea vessels rarely had women on them, so what if—?

No. It wasn't Elizabeth. Yes, it was a woman, very good looking at that, but not Elizabeth. The woman walked across the deck placing herself at Jack's side, and Will was the most surprised in his life as the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow placed a hand on her waist.

"Why do you want the jewel, Will?" Jack turned his attention back to the Captain of the Flying Dutchman. His eyes demanded and searched for truth.

Will made eye contact with Jack. "I don't have any use for it. But I don't want the gem to fall into the wrong hands."

Jack nodded, looking away as he put a finger to his lips staring into the water overboard. "Meet my wife, William Turner." Jack turned his gaze back to the man in front of him. "The jewel."

The jewel. It was a human. A woman. And it didn't make sense to Will.
