He's a mess.
Physically and mentally. His hair, usually neatly kept and meticulously maintained, is unkempt. There are bags under his eyes, you can tell it's been some time since he had a decent sleep. This . . . This isn't your Rafe. Even when he got kicked out of his parent's house, it wasn't this bad.
All you know is that he and his father were supposed to have reconciled, and were planning a trip to the Bahamas, but Rafe was . . . erratic lately, with his sister's death and a rash of incidents of vandalism on his parent's house. He was not doing well. Grief, twisted up with paranoia, anger and an unexpected detox leaving him experiencing intense withdrawal symptoms.
He's shivering on your doorstep, like a chihuahua, a symptom of his body craving the drugs. "Can I stay here for a bit? Please?"
