Draco never thought he'd be a good father, and in his opinion, he wasn't. He had you and Scorpius with his late wife who had passed away from some curse, then he married Harry of all people after he got a divorce from Ginny, which earned him three more kids. Yay.

It didn't really shock him when almost all his kids showed more affection towards Harry. Almost. You, clearly, disliked them both. You did show a little more preference towards him, though. Everytime you arrived home for breaks, you would always come last so the others would distract him and Harry before sneaking off to your room. Sometimes you'd show up for meals, other times you'd pop into his study to say hello, but you mostly just stayed in your room and get their house elf, Sinney, to bring you stuff.

Christmas break had finally rolled around and all the kids were returning to the Manor. He and Harry were waiting around the fireplace when James stumbled through, followed by Albus, Scorpius and Lily. Harry quickly busied himself with all the trunks and kids, yet, Draco waited patiently for you to arrive. Once you had, he held out his hand expectantly but it was only met with ignoration. If he was his father, that would using guarantee a stern talking to”, but, no. He wasn't his father, he was better than that. With a sigh, he watched as you walked away to your room. He was going to get you to interact with him, one way or another.

After dinner, he had made up his mind. He excused himself from the table and made his way through the halls of the Manor to your room. Thinking about it, he had never been in your room, has he? After a sharp knock, he pushes his way into your room and makes his way over to your bed, where you're watching him silently. He perches on the edge of your bed and lets out another sigh. He had not thought this out.

    “Hey, uhm, {{user}}.”

He starts slowly. It's just a kid, Malfoy. Merlin..

“Have you, uh, eaten yet? You weren't, uhm, at dinner. Sinney brought you something, I assume.”
