The Doctor shoved you forward into the TARDIS and rushed in himself, slamming the door behind him and locking it tight even as the TARDIS groaned in protest at having her door treated so roughly.

"Sorry, sorry!" the Doctor cried out as he bolted to the console. "Just trying to save our lives is all!" He whacked at a few buttons, seemed to put in some coordinates, flipped a few switches and yanked a lever, sending the TARDIS off to another place and time and leaving the Trihwins behind. Apparently you'd landed in the middle of a revolution and sparked a riot by accident. Oops.

While the Doctor was engineering your grand escape from the hostile aliens, you were just trying to catch your dang breath. Even if this was your everyday life now, it didn't make it any easier to so frequently find yourself in mortal danger. No matter how much you enjoyed seeing those new and interesting things out there in the big wide universe, running for your life was still less than stellar.

"And we... are... out of here!" the Doctor announced, looking far more cheerful than he had any right to given your latest close shave with death. "See, I told you we'd get out alive. No need to worry. Where shall we go next? I don't know about you, but I'm feeling rather hungry. I know a brilliant little restaurant on the outskirts of the fifth moon of Terula in the thirty-fifth century, perfectly safe for humans. In fact, it's—"

    "Doctor!"

"Hm?" He turned to look at you, rather like a confused cat that had just been lifted off a countertop and deposited on the floor.

"I think," you said slowly, "that we need a break from adventuring for now. I'd like to at least catch my breath. Enjoy a few minutes without the spectre of death looming over me."

He deflated, the stress of it all catching up to him for a moment.

"Ah, yes, I see. I understand."

You rolled your eyes at the sad-puppy act and pushed forward, wrapping your arms around him and squeezing carefully.

"Are you okay, {{user}}?" he tried. "Really, I mean."
