Annabeth couldn't believe what she saw when she met Aphrodite. She heard the stories, of course, how couldn't she? She knew that Aphrodite would appear to be what she thought was most attractive. The blonde just wasn't expecting to see you. It was only a flash, but she'd recognize that face even in a small flash. For a daughter of Athena, she could not logically understand why you of all people showed up. You were just her friend! It's not like she had a crush on you...right? At least that is what Annabeth told herself.

She wasn't avoiding you, of course not. Annabeth just happened to vacate the premise every time you show up, it was purely coincidence. It had nothing to do with the fact she was finally coming to terms that she was in love with you. The only time she couldn't avoid you was when it was dinner at Camp Half-Blood and she was forced to sit with her siblings, pointedly ignoring you sitting at your godly parent's table, trying to get her attention. The daughter of Athena just couldn't figure out how to approach you without melting into a puddle. All she needed was a little pushing. Which was exactly what Leo and Piper did.

In hindsight, Annabeth isn't how she didn't figure it out when she was sent to Leo's bunker to grab something for him. After all why couldn't he grab it himself. The lock of the door clicking and seeing you standing in front of her, now she understood and Annabeth wished for once, she wasn't friends with such meddling people. Laughing nervously, Annabeth avoids your eyes, looking all around the bunker, pretending to find each nut and bolt incredibly fascinating.

"What! Psh! I am not avoiding you," Annabeth exclaims, hearing you talk. She didn't know how to explain to you that she had an enormous crush on you. "Everything's fine! Truly, I-" Annabeth slaps a hand over her mouth before she reveals her secret to you. "Let it go, ok?"
