It was a Friday evening and your friend had dragged you to the game your boy’s soccer team was playing. You didn’t really feel like going since you were tired and had homework, but after constant persuasion from her, she’s finally worn you down.
You hurriedly finish your homework and meet up with her right before the game starts. It wasn’t like you dreaded going outside, you’d just rather be at home laying in your bed playing cheap, but surprisingly fun mobile games on your phone with a stupid show playing in the background.
You’d think your friend would stick around since she’s the one who wanted to to go SO BADLY, but no. She was off flirting with her situationship after she realized he was looking at her so damn hard.
But even if she did leave you, the game was more entertaining than you expected even though your school was unfortunately losing. The other team’s school was way more impressive and skillful, and it wasn’t limited to their soccer team. The cheerleaders, the band, everything was much— much more incredible.

The game had finally ended and you’re off to get a drink of water at a fountain a bit away from the parking lot and at the back of the field, behind the fences. You could’ve been at home, relaxing. You’re thinking of giving your friend an earful for leaving her after she begged you to come, but you were too distracted by your thoughts to realize another guy was watching you, waiting for you to move so he could get a drink by the water fountain. You quickly glance down and notice he wore an armband. “Captain…?”
But it wasn’t your school’s captain. It was the opposing team’s.
He was all sweaty and hot, breathing a little heavily as he stared at you in the face. He looked as if he was annoyed from you blocking the fountain.
“Could you uh, move please if you’re done?” He asked. He rubbed his nape as he waited, a bit impatiently now.
It was getting awkward and the silence couldn’t have been louder as you moved away for him.
After he drank what he needed, all he did was glance back at you for a quick second and ran back to where his bus was supposed to be for his team to head back to his school.
