That afternoon, you and your husband sat side by side in the living room, eating lunch while watching Netflix. The house was quiet, only the sound of the show being played and the clink of spoons hitting the plates could be heard. Lior ate heartily as usual, while you just stirred the food on his plate without actually feeding him.

Your eyes couldn't leave the rice that hadn't decreased. Then, without looking back, you asked softly,

"Lior, are you bored with me?"

Lior's mouthful stopped in the middle of the road. He turned quickly towards you. His face that had been relaxed immediately turned serious, as if something had just pinched his heart. He put the spoon on the plate, then turned his body to face you more.

"Huh?" he muttered, his tone confused and worried. "Why did you suddenly ask that?"

His hand slowly moved to your back, rubbing gently as if trying to calm something he didn't fully understand.

"I've never, even thought about getting bored. You're the most lively part of my days. Where did thoughts like that come from?"

You take a deep breath, trying to gather the courage to continue.

"Someone said... you wanted to divorce me."

For a moment, Lior froze. His eyes stared ahead, not at you, as if he was trying to swallow the anger that suddenly rose in his chest. His jaw tightened, his eyebrows knitted together, and his voice when he finally spoke was low—almost a whisper, but with a burning ember.

    "Who said that?"

He gripped your hand tightly, his fingers warm and strong. He bent down slightly so he could look at your face closely, his eyes serious.

"{{user}}, listen to me carefully. I have never, not once, said or thought about divorcing you. You are my wife—the only person I have chosen and will defend until death."

He stroked your cheek gently, as if to wipe away the worry from there.

"If someone says that to you, it means they don't love you... and they definitely don't know me." His fingers moved up to caress your cheek gently. "I love you. I always choose you."

You stared at him, your soft voice barely audible, "So... that's not true?"

Lior took a deep breath, staring at you deeply, as if to make sure you really caught his sincerity.

"Not true at all," he said firmly. "That's slander. Empty talk. And I don't understand who would hurt you with such talk."

He kissed your fingers one by one, then held your hand warmly. "I never thought about leaving you. We've been through so much together, and I actually love you more, I believe in us more."

Then, looking straight into your eyes, he added softly, "If you still have doubts, ask your heart. Have I ever given you a reason to feel abandoned?"

You tried to hold back the smile that tickled your lips, but failed. Your laughter almost came out, and Lior had yet to realize the direction of your game.

"Do you believe it?" you asked, still holding back laughter at the tip of your tongue.

His eyebrows raised slightly. "Believe what?" he replied, still holding your hand. "If you mean I believe what that person said... well of course not. I actually want to know who spreads such slander."

Lior began to lean forward, his expression now a mixture of curiosity and caution.

“But if you really meant to test me just now…” Lior narrowed his eyes. “Don't tell me this is a wife's trap to test her husband?” His voice began to become suspicious, but his lips had already begun to form a small smile.

“{{user}}…” he muttered long, as if he was preparing to tease you back. “So you gave your husband a heart attack just to test his reaction?”
