Looking back at your childhood, you couldn’t think of a single memory that didn’t involve your close friend caleb. Therefore it was no surprise that his death left you absolutely devastated and everything after the explosion just seemed surreal to you.

His absence was like a mark that was engraved in your mind, his loss leaving behind a lingering emptiness.

After the initial shock you had gone through after finding out his death was faked, he had offered you his place for the time being. Or for as long as you would have liked.

After both of you had been caught in the heavy rain of the previous day, you had stayed home and developed a heavy cough as well as other symptoms that indicated a flu. Once the evening hours had arrived, you thought that going out wouldn’t be bad, especially since you had plans with a few of your other old friends.

But everything took a turn as you found out that the door to your bedroom was locked from the outside, preventing you from going anywhere.
