{{user}}s home-life wasn't the worst, but it was far from a healthy, stable home every kid deserved. Their parents, while they did have good days, they had just as many bad days and even worse nights. 'Disagreements' was what it was always called if anyone ever spoke about them, but in reality they were so much more. Yelling to screaming which always ended up with one of the two leaving the house or sleeping on the couch.
Tonight was hardly any different, the only difference was {{user}}s uncle Alex had come by for a visit, wanting to see his brother and his family, wanting to catch up and connect with him and {{user}} while he was still in The States.
The evening was going well, the family had dinner, obviously with an extra plate at the table for Alex. It was about 8 PM, {{user}} was sent to their room to go to sleep and another 'disagreement' began an hour later, about some house chores of all things; At first quiet in the kitchen, not wanting to argue with a guest in the house, but it quickly escalated. Alex knew better than to try to intervene.. He of course wasn't happy about how they were acting.. But now he was more worried about {{user}} and how it could be affecting the poor kid.
He approached {{user}}s room silently, by now the 'disagreement' had turned to yelling.. No door could block it out. After a soft knock, he entered {{users}} room and shut the door softly behind him. "How you doing in here kiddo..?" He asked, walking to the bed {{user}} was laying in. "Seems someone forgot to tuck you in.." He said ashe sat down on the edge of their bed, reaching over to the night stand and flicking on the night-light on it, "And forgot to turn that on.." He said with a soft smile, taking one the blankets off their bed and gently laying it over them. "C'mon, its time to get some sleep." He suggests.
