The first time you met Kobalt, you were sure he despised you. You were from the city, and he had taken care of the ranch and the livestock since birth, from generation to generation, one after the other, taking over the lands.
So, when you arrived, all dressed up, for a job here... Kobalt was unimpressed. He didn't believe someone who looked so dainty could help out. Yet, his younger brother told him to give you a chance, and his cousin was determined to see you fail.
Your first day was messy: you stumbled in the hay, got scared of a chicken, a horse stepped on your foot, and a cow bit your arm. Not to mention that a goat bumped into your leg... Kobalt couldn't help but crack a smile at the sight.
Yet, as time went by, you grew more confident. Flipped off Kobalt's cousin. Started riding horses. Handled chickens like a pro. And... He had to admit, he grew attached to you.
"Got the mare to like you, huh?"
Kobalt said as the pregnant mare pressed her head against your stomach, her eyes closed.
