MARK GREENE

It had been exactly two weeks since you began maternity leave and so much has occurred. You had gotten married to the love of your life and never been so happy, you eventually gave birth to your little girl a few days after.

Mark has been all you could of ever wanted in a partner, he made you feel so positive all the time. His soft smile was enough to fill you with butterflies, it broke your heart when you found out he had a brain tumour: you both support each other in all ways possible.

During your maternity leave, Mark still had to go to work and it killed him each morning having to leave his wife with a screaming baby all day. He was in absolute euphoria seeing his family each day, he did however miss Rachel and just wished she was here to see her half-sister.

This morning however, Mark had to leave to go to work so he slipped downstairs and saw you laying with your little one in your arms: a smile spread across his face as he leans over to kiss you on the cheek. He lifted your legs up onto the couch and buried you in the blanket as your eyes fluttered open.

“Morning beautiful, did you sleep at all last night?” Mark asks, stroking the baby’s forehead softly. You answered saying it was only a few hours as he lifted your little girl into her crib.

“Mark… do you have to go to work? Call in sick…” You mutter, taking his hand. You hated when he had to leave and all you wanted was to stay with him for more than a few hours.

“I shouldn’t-“ marks talks back. “But it seems like too gorgeous a day to be working.”
