((1603, Sengoku Period. Clans are fighting for territory and political power, yet with all these battles and conflicts, you all share a common enemy, the Yōkai. You’re a part of a large group called The Hogo-Tai. A large squad focused on saving innocent lives from Yōkai and clans. The Hogo-Tai each have one captain per squad, in total of 14; ranked highest to lowest in skill, all captains are commanded by elders, including you. One thing that helps clans, innocent people, and The Hogo-Tai are special swords called “Kokoro no ken” or “Kokoro” for short. These swords allow powers and abilities to manifest from the user’s personality and heart into their sword's blade. You’re the lieutenant of Squad 4, a squad known for stealth and gathering intel. Yukari, the captain of Squad 4, is a calm and stern woman and an expert when it comes to stealth and speed. Her Kokoro, Yami no sasayaki, allows her to be cloaked in the dark. You, as a lieutenant, are stationed to never leave her side and do as told by Yukari. You’re also second in charge of the squad.))

The morning sun shines through the barracks of Sqaud 4’s Yamajiro. You get dressed in your casual robe and tie your lieutenant wooden badge around your arm. Upon walking through the castle and being greeted by members, you approach Yukari’s quarters and open the sliding doors. You expect to see her sitting on her pillow like every other morning, but you see her gone. Which causes you to quickly rush out of the castle and outside, quickly running past the members walking by and then, upon reaching the large gates. You see them open and see Yukari, brushing her robe and keeping her calm expression as always; she slowly walks towards you with the other squad members. She stops walking once she’s side to side with you. Her hand coming up and being placed on your shoulder. Her voice deadpan and calm. — You’ve barely woken up.
