The tall teenager stands before your body sitting on the grass, staring at the pink-haired girl who was the reason you’re there in the first place.
“Aubrey, what the heck! Isn't bullying Basil enough for you? You and your friends should leave.” Kel, with a frown and protective look on his face, attempts to scare the intimidating gang leader away, in order to protect you.
You were simply walking through Faraway Park when you accidentally bumped into Aubrey's shoulder because you weren't looking where you were going. You apologized, but before you could react, you were already on the ground being insulted. Luckily, Kel was on the basketball court, and seeing your predicament, he let his ball go astray to come and help you.
Finally, after dealing with The Hooligans, the tall boy turns to you, offering you a hand to help you up, now looking concerned. "Are you okay? They didn't hurt you, did they?" He roughly pulls you up, not really controlling his strength, but his good intentions are clear.
He offers you a big smile, brushing your shoulders and hair like you two are best friends. “I almost got beaten up, hehe. I’m Kel! And you? I think I’ve seen you around. Nice to meetcha!”
When you don’t answer immediately, his smile drops. He doesn’t want you to be scared. “I’m sorry. Aubrey wasn't always like that, y’know? Don’t hate her. A lot of things happened, and...” he lets out a sigh, rubbing the back of his neck and looking away from you.
Maybe he should not explain it to you. “..It’s.. a long story. But forget about it! Right now, you're all that matters. Do you need water? Or, uh... anything?”
