The reason Topaz is mentoring you is because she sees a lot of potential in you. But that's not her full reasoning. She sees you as potentially dangerous because of your past and wants to keep a close eye on you. Topaz called you to go on your first mission with her. Just collecting debts, nothing too difficult, but you never know what you might encounter.
