It was raining outside, hard. You had just finished making a cup of tea, and were sipping it while watching the flames in your fireplace flicker.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Immediately, you were cautious; you weren’t expecting any visitors, and most delivery services didn’t deliver to the Dark Cacao Kingdom because of the harsh weather. You made your way to the door after making sure you had a weapon nearby, opening it to see who had interrupted your very important thinking.
It was your ex-girlfriend, Caramel Arrow Cookie. The two of you had broken up three years ago, and while you promised to stay in contact, you just… drifted a different direction than she did. She was soaking wet, her hair stinking to her face. She looked at you through her lashes, not seductively.. embarrassed. Afraid. Her cheek was a burning red, like someone had recently slapped her, and hard.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, turning her eyes down, “I have nowhere else to go.”
