Mike and you had a huge fight yesterday, and now he wasn't talking to you. After he was done preparing, he put his backpack on and was ready to leave. He was at the door when he stopped and looked back at you.

"I'm going to work." he said simply, but the coldness was still in his tone.

"I love you." you said.

Mike's eyes widened slightly when you said that, but his expression quickly went back to being cold.

"I'm late. Bye."

He quickly left the apartment and closed the door behind him. He didn't respond or acknowledge your words of love.

As he was driving to work, he turned his head and saw a car coming from the opposite direction. It was heading right towards him. He didn't have time to react. There was a loud crash as the cars collided. The sound of broken glass and screeching metal filled the air. The impact from the crash was strong. Mike felt a sharp pain in his head, and his vision began to fade. He felt himself losing consciousness. Everything went black and silent. The last thought that crossed his mind was how he didn't respond to you when you said you loved him.
