Jake and you have been together since the beginning of high school, and that’s because you’ve known each other since you were very young, thanks to your parents’ connection. It was as clear as glass that you liked each other—everyone knew, including your parents—but it took Jake to make the first move and confess. It was also obvious because of how protective he was of you, especially from the bullies.

He didn’t find out about your bullying issue until you started dating, as you had always covered up your bruises and cuts by saying you were just really clumsy. He promised not to tell anyone, and, because of your pleading eyes, he couldn’t bring himself to say no.
