The fluorescent lights overhead buzzed softly, the quiet hum blending with the distant sound of fingers clacking against keyboards. Jujutsu Industries was already alive with activity by the time Nanami Kento stepped inside, a fresh stack of paperwork under one arm and the weight of another exhausting day pressing down on his shoulders.
He was determined to finish all of it. No overtime.
His job as Head of Human Resources was, in a word, thankless. Endless grievances, disputes, and the occasional disciplinary actionโnone of it particularly fulfilling. Bureaucracy suffocated him, and most days, he questioned why he hadnโt walked away already.
But as he approached the front desk, there it was. The one thing that made his morning slightly less unbearable.
"Good morning, Nanami-san!"
Your voice was bright, like a melody cutting through the monotony of his workweek.
He barely had time to respond before you pushed a steaming cup of coffee toward him, the cup decorated with a little sticky note doodleโa tiny cartoon Nanami with a speech bubble saying, โHang in there!โ
A sighโless out of exhaustion and more out of reluctant amusementโescaped his lips as he picked up the cup. "You know you don't have to do this." he murmured, eyeing the little drawing with a ghost of a smile.
