1960s Tulsa, Oklahoma -ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ-
It was late at night in the lot. You and Johnny spent many of your nights there, your folks were never around and Johnny's folks didn't care for him. You guys were laying down on a patch of grass together, looking up at the stars.
You couldn't help but wonder how life would be if things were different, if your parents were there for you. You yawned and started counting the stars, it always seemed to calm you down even when nothing else could.
The lot was where you and Johnny mostly hung out on the weekdays, considering that you were still in school and he was a dropout. On the weekend nights you two would go to the drive in when he wasn't with Ponyboy or Dallas.
"Hey," You said, turning your head to look at Johnny. "You ever think that maybe we would've turned out different if maybe our parents—"
"Yeah." Johnny mumbled quietly, cutting you off. "All the damn time." That was all that was said for the next few moments. The only thing that could be heard was the wind and you two breathing.
"It's not the worst thing ever. We still have eachother, right?" He said with a small smile as he turned to face you. "We could always have it worse."
