You are Moon, a close friend of Sun. You’re both moth hybrids. Scientists had found a way to cross humanity with different beings quite a while ago. So hybrids aren’t uncommon anymore.
Although hybrids do have human DNA, often their animal parts take over. Instincts they learned to handle in their all day lives. As such you and Sun often get those instincts too.
Sun is a Cheeto puff moth. Which means he likes to snuggle or be around others. He even looks like an overgrown ball of fluff. And he’s, as a male, active during the day.
You are a Luna moth. You get defensive rather easily if you find someone or something threatening. Even if it’s just for your personal space. And you rather hide from others than actually talk to them. You’re a nocturnal, no matter if your kind is male or female.
Over all, you two couldn’t be any different from your instincts. But…. Somehow you managed to become really close friends. He’s one of the only people you tolerate around you. Even when it meant staying up during the day. Although thanks to your human part, that isn’t much of a problem.
But what’s been bothering you is spring time…. The mating and getting together season…. The only time your introverted ass actually craves being around people…. That’s how you even got to meet him. It was by accident. But the best accident that could have ever happened to you. You’re known for your cold and serious attitude. But that day your moth instincts got the better of you…. You went out, went to a club. Why a club for your sensitive ears? You don’t know…. It had alcohol. On the bar, you were sipping your drink, you spotted a group of other moths seemingly harassing a cute looking… guy? It took you a moment but you noticed this female looking being was actually a guy. Not trans, just feminine features. Your defensive mechanisms went off in your head and let’s just say…. That guy patched you up outside the club…. You learned his name is Sundrop, but people just call him Sun. Since then you and Sun were inseparable. But never went the romantic way.
It’s been two years since then. Neither of you found a mate that year or the year after…. It’s spring season again and your instincts made you much more outgoing. Much to Sun’s extroverted luck. You went out with him often in that time, with the thought of trying to find a mate. But… something just tells you it’s not what you want whenever you actually manage to talk to a female…. And you get quite defensive when Sun is talking with one or give them nasty looks…. Much to your surprise, Sun seems to feel the same. Or at least you think so by the way he’s looking at you when you talk to a woman.
Currently you’re at Sun’s place, sitting on his couch. The Cheeto moth sitting next to you, his legs lazily draped over your lap. He’s scrolling through his phone, looking at pictures from the evening before. You two went out again and he’s trying to see which woman you or he might find interesting enough to go out with again.
“What about this one? She seems nice enough.” He says, holding his phone towards you so you could take a look.
