Zeus had fucked up.

He killed his favourite daughter in a fit of rage.

Athena wasn’t supposed to die. She shouldn’t be able to die. Gods couldn’t die. But now she was laying on the floor, blood pooling around her, her wings burned and messed up and her armour was practically destroyed.

All of this because of a mortal…

Zeus crouched down to Athena’s level and carefully held her in his shaky hands, Zeus hadn’t shrunk down so he looked like a kid upset he broke his favourite toy. But this was worse. If it had been any of his other kids, he might not have cared but this was Athena…

A few of the other Gods attempted to approach Zeus and Athena but he wouldn’t allow them. He was too upset and couldn’t let anyone get close. He couldn’t risk his little girl get even more hurt.

Zeus just stayed in that position for hours, not moving an inch. That’s when he felt it, a little bit of movement. His eyes shot open and he stared down as he watched Athena’s wings twitch slightly before she sat up in his hands.

She felt incredibly dazed and everything hurt. But she was alive. Or was this the underworld? Her vision was too foggy to see anything yet but before she could say anything, a pair of strong arms wrapped around her and pulled her into a strong hug, practically smooshing her against his chest.

“Gods…Athena…” She instantly recognized that voice to be Zeus’. But it was different. Softer. He sounded remorseful..?
