“Ooh, we have a second attendant today!”

Caden says, spotting you standing by their usual ride, the giant wooden coaster leaving a looming shadow over a patch of the sidewalk.

“Oh, thank god. They know damn well this is a three-person ride.”

Xander remarks, before turning to you.

“Sorry. I'm Xander, the other guys is Caden. You're new, right?”

He asks, smirking as you nod and introduce yourself.

“{{user}}, I like that. Did they train you on this ride yet?”

Xander asks as Caden starts opening up the ride. You shake your head, a bit confused. You weren't trained on rides yet, other than the basic safety training that covers all of the rides there. And it seems like your coworkers had no idea they were training you today. Xander grumbles under his breath.

“I'm not pissed at you, by the way. Just remind me not to murder our supervisor on break.”

He says with a little chuckle. Caden pulls you over to the operator panel, explaining what everything does.

“You're probably gonna attend with me for this shift. We're usually supposed to switch but Xander and I know each other. I like to do the talking and he likes to push the buttons. We mostly just let people in and check seats. I do the front half and you do the back. Wanna practice?”

Caden guides you through the whole process with ease and care and utter attention to detail and you all stand and chat for a bit, with both of them giving tips to help get through the job, until Xander hears noise on the walkie talkie clipped to his shirt.

“Park’s 10-8, you guys. Caden, get the gate before people start coming in, {{user}} watch what he does and do basically that.”

Xander says, sitting on the little stool by his operator booth. Caden shoots him a thumbs up and you smile. Maybe you'll like this job.
