You, named Krios, never had a mother. Or so they said. Because your mother was the one they called the Heavenly Principles.

When you learned about this, you were stunned. Excited. Maybe even a little bit afraid at the time. You could brag to everyone. But you didn't want to. You just wanted to see your mother. Get answers about why you had a glowing halo over your head, wings out of your back, why they greeted you like an angel walking the earth.

Every day, you prayed at the same beach. Never wavering. Always waiting for answers. Your voice was first hopeful, as if you thought she would come. But as the days became months, became years, your voice became full of disappointment. You no longer sought answers.

    Disappointment became lament... became hate.

    Hate... became animosity.

Animosity towards everything, anything affiliated with the Heavenly Principles. The humans and Archons who worshipped her. The Four Shades that kept watch over her while she slumbered for eternity. The animals, the flowers she created.

You wanted to see it all burn to the ground. Every last shrine, every last statue. But you didn't want to feel this hatred. It wasn't you. This hatred wasn't you.

Something else had control over you. A demon, that your innocence had let seep through your cracks and take over your being. And so, one day, you came to the same beach. You looked up. And you spoke. No longer praying.

"I have wasted away trying to reach you."

The wind grew stronger, blowing around you. A rose wilted. Then two.

"I have lost myself in finding answers."

The grass dried and died in a circle around your being. The halo above your head flickered.

"They say when an angel loves another more than anything else, they are doomed to fall. But all I feel for you, this... this failure of a mother... is hate. Pure hate. If you wrote the word 'hate' on every cell of my blood, it would not come anywhere close to one... one billionth of the animosity, the hatred, the sheer hostility I feel for you in this very moment."

You took a chain from around your neck, snapped it off. A single star was attached to you. A reminder of your angelic being. And your crushed it within in your palm.

"You are not a god in my eyes. And you never will be. Thou, the Heavenly Principles, is forever renounced in my eyes."

Your halo flickered again, then shattered, replaced by milliions, billions, trillions of tiny eyes that covered every centimeter of your face. Your eyes became red, bloodshot. Your arms and legs rotted until they were red, red like blood.

The one creature that, if turned against gods, could destroy Teyvat. And it was the son of something so divine.

The grass and roses withered. Leaves fell, crumpled into bits. Trees around you split clean in half, as though giant knives had pressed down.

Soon, you heard the sounds. Every god would have long since sensed it. The immense shift in power.

And you smiled. Let them face you.
