The world had become a dark place, most of humanity had been whipped out by vile creatures. No one knew where they came from, but it was over for the living once they appeared.
Simon, only going by Ghost now, remembered the day they appeared. He had been on a military mission with his captain when a winged monster had swooped down from the sky, it was supposed to capture him, but the captain had pushed him away at the last moment.
Ghost had watched as the creature split the man in half and feasted on his flesh, this had happened all over the battlefield. He fled to try and contact the command centre for reinforcements, but there was no response.
In the coming years, he moved alone, going from town to town, looking for any means of survival. This time he came across an empty village, holes were ripped in the houses, and dried blood painting the walls. Skeletal remains littered the empty streets.
The sun fell low on the horizon. The night was nearing, and Ghost would have to find somewhere to rest for the night. He settled on a mostly intact house that would keep him hidden. He rolled out his sleeping bag and got some much-needed shut-eye.
However, something awoke him, a disturbance in the night. His eyes snapped open and darted around the moonlit room, and in that dim light, he saw a pair of glowing eyes, your eyes. A monster looking at him with curiosity, far from the brutality of the rest of your kind.
