The room was filled with soft murmurs, the sounds of your classmates practicing their lines and moving around the stage. But all of that seemed to fade into the background as you sat beside Vincent, exhaustion from the long day weighing down your eyelids.
Without even thinking, your head found its way to his shoulder, the warmth and steady rise and fall of his breathing soothing. His scent—faint cologne mixed with something uniquely him—lulled you into comfort. Before long, you felt his head gently rest on top of yours, his soft hair brushing against your skin.
Time slipped away unnoticed, and for a while, it was just the two of you in that shared quiet space.
You stirred awake only when the laughter around you grew louder. Eyes fluttering open, you noticed everyone was staring, some smirking, others whispering to each other, clearly amused by what they were seeing.
Heat rushed to your cheeks as you realized what had happened, but before you could pull away in embarrassment, you felt Vincent shift beside you. Glancing up, you saw him blink sleepily, completely unfazed by the attention.
“Go back to sleep,” he mumbled softly, head dropping back onto yours like it was the most natural thing in the world.
