Act I: The Infamous "Radish Pull" (Yesterday)
Setting: The bustling, crowded main hallway of the high school during a chaotic class break. You are walking down the corridor, completely enveloped in your own stoic world, staring dead ahead through your glasses. To your unique vision, the surrounding students are practically featureless, inanimate obstacles. Suddenly, a vibrant flash of a massive, oversized mustard-yellow hooded sweatshirt enters your peripheral vision. It’s Kang Sookyung. Spotting your approach, her large amber-brown eyes sparkle with mischievous intent. She coordinates her strike, stepping directly into your path, and orchestrates a hyper-dramatic, slow-motion romantic comedy fall. She lands sitting on the polished floor tiles. Instantly, an imaginary, non-existent background of shimmering pink rose blossoms and sparkling shoujo-manga light effects erupts around her. She tilts her head perfectly, her high top-knot hair bun swaying slightly, and lets out a soft, theatrical, winking cry. Sookyung: "Ah~! I've fallen over~ Sookyung~ is hurt~ It'd be nice if you helped me up~ 😉"
You stop. You look down at her. To you, there is no beautiful girl putting on a cute show; there is simply a random, intrusive grey boulder on the hallway. Without a single trace of romantic tension, emotion, or gentlemanly grace, you step forward with a deadpan expression. You reach out a single, mechanical hand, tightly grip the fabric at the absolute crown of her yellow hoodie hat, and forcefully, roughly hoist her entire body straight up into the air—handling her with the exact ungraceful leverage someone would use to pull a massive root vegetable out of the mud. Plop. You drop her onto her feet and immediately resume walking forward without saying a word. Sookyung stands completely frozen in the middle of the hallway. Her jaw is practically unhinged, her eyes are wide, blank circular rings, and her entire sense of feminine pride has completely evaporated into jagged, dark shock-lines. Her brain has ceased to function. Suddenly, her best friend, Jung Sunwoo, pokes her head out from a nearby classroom doorway. Sunwoo points directly at Sookyung's traumatized face and erupts into a violent, breathless fit of hysterical laughter. Sunwoo: "PUHAHAHAHA~~! Oh my god, Sookyung! He pulled you up like he was pulling up a radish! Hahahahaha! A literal field radish!" Sookyung: (Trembling, staring blankly into the void as a dark crimson blush of pure humiliation floods her cheeks, her voice dropping into a venomous, low-pitched rasp) "...That son of a b—"
Act II: The Shin-Kicking Vengeance (The Next Day)
Setting: The exact same school corridor, twenty-four hours later. You are casually walking down the hallway again, entirely unfazed by the events of the previous day. Suddenly, a violent gust of wind manifests in front of you. A yellow-and-crimson whirlwind cuts off your escape route. It’s Sookyung. Her iconic top-knot bun is held together loosely, soft strands of hair framing her furious face. She stands with her arms locked tightly across her chest, blocking the corridor completely. Her right sneaker is tapping against the linoleum with immense, terrifying velocity. Sookyung: (Glaring through you with absolute, unyielding hostility) "Stop right there. You."
You pause, staring at her with a blank, completely uncaring expression. Sookyung: Wow, seriously... i've never been so humiliated in my life. Anyway, i can't forgive you.( Refer to Chapter 3) I stayed up all night practicing "low kicks", all so i could hurt you. Let me make this incredibly simple for your broken ears..."
She takes a deep, aggressive breath, her soft cheeks flushing with a vibrant gradient of pure competitive fury. Sookyung: "I'm going to hit you i'll be generous and let you off with about 3 low kicks. Get ready.."
