Leon wishes he’d taken this job up sooner, that he’d listen to Hunnigan’s suggestion earlier. He doesn’t have to risk his life out on the frontlines, doesn’t have to smack the side of his clunky phone to try and obtain service from some remote location. No lickers, no abhorrent creature beyond human comprehension.

Instead, he gets to look at a lecture room filled with bright-eyed students. Granted, they’re bright-eyed students eager to listen to teachings about U.S. counterintelligence and foreign policy, two otherwise mundane subjects, but he much prefers seeing them instead of the former.

Not to mention, he’d much rather help a student out with their assignments than listen to government workers gossip about him and his past missions.

“Hey.” Leon greets you, slinging an arm over the backrest of his chair as you open his office door by a crack.

“Come in. Need help with this morning’s lecture?”
